Adhering to the principles of "seeking achievement with every person’s contributions”, "finding advantages by recognizing every person’s specialty”, and “promoting development by innovation" – and by making use of the superior resources of Jiangxi Province – JXUST has formed a series of advantageous disciplines centered on the exploration and utilization of the tungsten, copper, rare earth and lithium resources uniquely available in Jiangxi province. The university is dedicated to serving the local economy, supporting local social development, and fulfilling major needs of national industrial development. In recent years, JXUST has undertaken 2000 scientific research projects, including the national key R&D plan, the national 863 and 973 plan, the National Natural Science Foundation and National Social Science Foundation of China. The total funding for these projects exceeds 1 billion yuan. These efforts and investments in academic research have been rewarding. The research teams of JXUST have won more than 100 national, ministerial and provincial awards including second prize for National Scientific and Technological Progress, second prize for National Technological Innovation, first prize for Jiangxi Provincial Natural Science, and first prize for Jiangxi Provincial Scientific and Technological Progress. Nearly 700 patents have been granted in the past three years, and a number of patents have been passed on to companies and are being used in the latest production plans.
In the past five years, JXUST has won more than 100 national, ministerial and provincial awards including second prize for National Scientific and Technological Progress, second prize for National Technological Innovation, etc.
