On the morning of Nov. 28th, the 2nd green and sustainable development forum for Dongjiang River Basin was held in the Ganzhou Campus of JXUST. Professor Wen Herui, president of JXUST addressed the opening ceremony. Upon briefing the history of the university, he introduced its education and research achievements. With the targets of maintaining sustainable economic growth and preserving sound environment, researchers from higher education institutions and officials from water resource administration shared their insights at the forum.
Dongjiang River (DjR, also known as East River in English) is one of the three major branches of the Pearl River (Zhujiang) in Southern China. The DjR starts in Xunwu County in Jiangxi Province, flows south-west to Guangdong Province and runs into the Pearl River estuary (South China Sea; see Figure 1). The DjR main stream has a total length of 562 km, of which 127 km is located in Jiangxi Province and the rest in Guangdong Province.
