On April 12th, a delegation from the Chinese Society of Rare Earths, with Mr. Niu Jingkao, secretary general of CSRE, visited the Ganzhou Campus of JXUST. The administrative staff of JXUST, including Professor Tang Yunzhi, director of the R& D Department, held discussions with the delegates. Upon extending a warm welcome to the CSRE guests, Professor Tang reviewed the research status quo and achievements of JXUST.
Mr. Niu Jingkao shared his insights from the following three aspects: to facilitate the researches on rare earth resources by giving full play to the advantages of regional resources; to integrate the research strengths within the JXUST faculty and beyond; to create favorable working conditions for research personnel.
Rare earths are a group of elements on the periodic table with similar properties. Rare earth metals are used to manufacture everything from electric vehicles (EVs), wind turbines, consumer electronics and other clean energy technologies. The Chinese Society of Rare Earths, founded in 1979, is the first national society on rare earth science, technology and applications in the world.
