On the morning of May 15th, Professor Lai Yuanming, an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, visited the Nanchang Campus of JXUST. Upon showing the guest around the teaching and research facilities, for instance, School History Museum, VR Laboratory, Science and Technology Exhibition Hall, Bio-Additive Research Institute and China-Australia REEM International Research Institute, vice president Liu Zuwen of JXUST, together with faculty and students representatives, held discussions with the distinguished guest. Professor Liu introduced the development and achievements of Nanchang campus from the aspects of talent training and scientific research. Lai endorsed the “software+” model of Nanhchang campus.
The CAS academician got his BS degree from Jiangxi University of Science and Technology in 1983. His research interests include Physical geography (Frozen soil environment and climate change, engineering in cold regions, thermodynamics of frozen soils), Geotechnical engineering (Soil mechanics, numerical method in geotechnical engineering,engineering in cold regions, mechanics and physics of frozen soils).
