Jiangxi University of Science and Technology has won eight awards in the 2026 Jiangxi Provincial Teaching Achievement Awards, according to a recent announcement by the Jiangxi Provincial People’s Government. The university received five awards for undergraduate teaching, including three first prizes and two second prizes, and three awards for graduate education, including one first prize and two second prizes.
The awarded projects focus on serving the national strategy for rare earths and critical minerals, reflecting the university’s distinctive reforms in teaching and talent cultivation. They highlight the university’s efforts to meet the demands of high-quality development in higher education, strengthen moral education, and deepen teaching innovation while supporting regional development.
In recent years, the university has remained committed to serving national needs in rare earths, tungsten, copper, and other critical minerals. It has continued to optimize its discipline structure, innovate training models, and strengthen practical teaching. The university has established an undergraduate program in rare earth science and engineering, as well as an interdisciplinary doctoral program, and has been selected for a national reform initiative for engineering master’s and doctoral training. These efforts have created an integrated bachelor’s-master’s-doctoral talent cultivation system covering the entire industry chain.
The eight provincial awards serve as recognition of the university’s teaching reforms and provide momentum for further advancing first-class program development and talent cultivation.
