Ahead of the 42nd Teachers’ Day, Jiangxi University of Science and Technology (JXUST) has concluded the selection of its first President’s Award. Thirteen outstanding teachers, students and alumni won the university’s highest honor, part of an effort to carry forward the motto “Aim High, Responsibility First,” set examples of excellence and inspire the JXUST community to shoulder its mission.
The President’s Award was initiated with a personal donation from Ge Shirong, president of JXUST and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. It is the university’s highest honor for current faculty, students and alumni. The award recognizes individuals with outstanding achievements in teaching and educating, academic research, learning and growth, management and service, industry contributions and giving back to their alma mater, as well as those who have contributed to technological innovation, industrial upgrading and social progress. It aims to harness the power of role models for high-quality development and pool strength from within and beyond the university for its “Double First-Class” construction.

After a rigorous process of individual application, organizational recommendation, qualification review, multi-level evaluation and university-wide public announcement, the first group of winners was chosen.
