Mr. Zhao Duoxian, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Ganzhou Municipal People’s Congress, led a delegation to Jiangxi University of Science and Technology (JXUST) today for a working visit focused on the university’s development and legislative collaboration.
President Yang Bin warmly received the delegation, outlining JXUST’s distinctive development path. He emphasized the university’s strategic focus on building a world-class disciplinary system centered on the critical minerals rare earth, tungsten, copper, and lithium. “We have established a synergistic development model spanning the entire academic chain,” President Yang stated, “providing robust support for national resource security and industrial advancement, while laying the groundwork for major national platforms.”
President Yang reaffirmed JXUST’s core mission of serving local development, highlighting its deep integration into Ganzhou’s revitalization. He expressed confidence that with strong municipal support, the university will leverage its unique strengths in mineral resources to shape a new development paradigm for higher education, thereby serving national strategy and regional socio-economic progress at an elevated level.
Chairman Zhao Duoxian highly commended the effective legislative partnership between JXUST and the municipal government. He urged the university to seize the opportunities presented by national strategic initiatives, precisely define its development goals, and harness policy support to drive high-quality growth. Chairman Zhao further encouraged JXUST to conduct in-depth research and actively provide expert recommendations to inform both its own advancement and future legislative work.
The meeting included a briefing by Professor Xiang Bo, Dean of the Law School, on the Legislative Research Base, alongside expert suggestions from scholars like Professor Meng Chunyang. Mr. Chen Jiansheng, Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Congress Standing Committee, concluded the session, extending sincere gratitude to the university and experts for their legislative contributions.
Concluding his visit, Chairman Zhao toured JXUST’s state-of-the-art sports complex, library, university history museum, and science and technology innovation exhibition hall, underscoring the institution’s comprehensive campus development.
