Jiangxi University of Science and Technology (JXUST) welcomed a high-level delegation from BGRIMM Technology Group (BGRIMM) today, led by Mr. Shen Zhengchang, Member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Chief Scientist of BGRIMM. The visit culminated in a strategic dialogue focused on advancing Mechanical Engineering discipline development and deepening scientific and technological cooperation.
President Yang Bin warmly received the delegation, expressing gratitude for BGRIMM's longstanding support and outlining JXUST's achievements in talent cultivation, research, societal service, and international engagement. President Yang highlighted Mechanical Engineering as a cornerstone discipline with a strong foundation for future growth. He emphasized the crucial strategic partnership with BGRIMM, expressing JXUST's sincere desire to renew the strategic cooperation agreement and significantly enhance joint scientific and technological endeavors.
Academician Shen Zhengchang commended the progress in JXUST's Mechanical Engineering discipline and offered valuable insights for its future trajectory. He noted JXUST's rapid development and distinct regional advantages. Academician Shen affirmed that BGRIMM "places high value on its collaboration with JXUST", pledging active efforts towards renewing the strategic agreement and deepening practical cooperation in areas including technological innovation, achievement transformation, and talent development. He stressed the shared goal of serving national strategy and industry needs.
President Ge Shirong emphasized the need to precisely define the discipline's direction, leveraging JXUST's unique strengths. This includes harnessing the advantages of the Gannan Laboratory platform, scientific capabilities, disciplinary talent, and supportive national and local policies to "forge a distinctive path for JXUST's disciplinary development" and "cultivate a high-caliber talent pool" for mutual benefit.
The meeting featured presentations on BGRIMM's development focus (by Sheng Zhongyi) and JXUST's Mechanical Engineering discipline progress (by Wu Xianzhen, Head of the Graduate Work Department). Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on key challenges and opportunities within the discipline.
