Recently, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the Department of Science and Technology of Jiangxi Province announced the approval results of their 2025 research funding programs. JXUST has been awarded 59 NSFC projects and 160 provincial sci-tech planning projects.
The NSFC projects include General Program, Regional Program, and Young Scientists Fund, with a total funding of 19.11 million RMB. The 160 provincial projects encompass Key R&D Programs, Provincial Distinguished Young Scholars Fund, Major and General Projects, Young Scientists Programs, and Early-Career Researcher Training Initiatives (excluding those obtained by independent secondary institutions such as Gannan Laboratory and National Science & Technology Innovation Base), with a total support of 24.69 million RMB. Notably, two-thirds of the approved projects are closely related to rare earth and critical minerals, highlighting the university’s organized research capability and innovation strength in these strategic fields.
Looking ahead, the university will continue to anchor itself in the goal of becoming “a world-class institution in rare earth and critical minerals,” striving to build a highland for education, science, and talent in key mineral resources. We are committed to contributing JXUST’s wisdom and actions to safeguarding China’s strategic position in the rare earth industry and supporting Jiangxi’s push toward a trillion-yuan critical minerals sector.
