From August 25 to 28, our university successfully hosted the 2025 Advanced Workshop on “Intelligent Development and Low-Carbon Utilization of Hard Rock Lithium Resources,” a high-level training program supported by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. The event was organized by the Yichun GRIM Lithium Battery New Energy Industry Research Institute and the College of Continuing Education.
Bringing together over 80 professionals and senior managers from Guangdong, Fujian, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Xinjiang, and other regions, the workshop aimed to address cutting-edge challenges and promote technological advancements in the lithium resource sector.
The opening ceremony, held on the morning of August 25 at the Yichun GRIM Institute, was attended by Xiong Zhihua, Vice President of the University; Wei Chuanbo, Director of the Education and Training Center; Yan Jiezhong, Deputy Inspector of the Yichun Human Resources and Social Security Bureau; and Zhou Hepeng, Deputy Director of the Institute.
In his welcome address, Vice President Xiong Zhihua highlighted GRIM’s leading role in nonferrous metals education and research, as well as its commitment to high-quality talent development and industry-academia collaboration. He encouraged participants to actively engage in discussions and strengthen their professional capabilities to contribute to the sustainable advancement of the critical metals industry.
The workshop featured an esteemed faculty of 12 experts, including Professor Luo Xianping from East China University of Technology, Professor Gao Zhiyong from Central South University, and Professor Zhou Hepeng from Jiangxi University of Science and Technology. The curriculum combined theoretical instruction, case studies, group discussions, and field visits to leading local enterprises such as Yichun Guoxuan Battery Co., Ltd., Jiangxi Shenghua New Materials Co., Ltd., and Jiangxi Zhengtuo New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.
This integrated approach enabled participants to gain both theoretical insights and practical exposure, fostering innovation and problem-solving capabilities tailored to real-world production challenges.

With its rich content, diverse formats, and strong practical focus, the workshop served as a dynamic platform for exchanging ideas and exploring new technological pathways. It provided significant impetus for developing new productive forces in the lithium industry and accelerating the intelligent, low-carbon utilization of hard rock lithium resources.
