In this year’s selection, the journal’s International Citation Communication Index (ICCI), a key indicator, showed significant improvement, reaching 63.477. This placed it 17th among the 150 outstanding journals in its category, marking a remarkable leap of 95 positions from the previous year.
The China Academic Journal International Citation Annual Report has been jointly released by CNKI and Tsinghua University Library for 14 consecutive years. By analyzing citation data from international journals referencing Chinese publications, it objectively reflects the influence and voice of Chinese academic journals within the global research landscape. The 2025 edition draws on a statistical source of 27,117 international journals, covering the majority of titles indexed in WoS, Scopus, EI, and Medline. It evaluated 7,240 Chinese academic journals for their international citations, grouping them into four categories: Science & Technology (English), Science & Technology (Chinese), Humanities & Social Sciences (English), and Humanities & Social Sciences (Chinese). Journals were ranked within their respective groups based on their ICCI scores, leading to the selection of 330 titles as either "China’s Most Influential International Academic Journals" or "China’s Outstanding International Impact Academic Journals"—collectively known as the TOP International Impact Journals. This designation has gained wide recognition within the academic publishing community and among research management authorities, playing a key and enduring role in aligning Chinese journals with international standards, building world-class academic brands, and enhancing confidence in domestic academic scholarship.
