As the old year makes way for the new, a fresh chapter begins. From the evening of December 30, 2025, to the morning of January 1, 2026, New Year's Eve galas were held simultaneously across Jiangxi University of Science and Technology's (JUST) Sanjiang Campus (East and West Gardens), Hongqi Campus, Nanchang Campus, as well as the Advanced Copper Industry College and Electronic Information Industry College. The celebrations culminated in flag-raising ceremonies on New Year's Day morning. Faculty and students of JUST bid farewell to the past and welcomed the new year with high spirits, gathering momentum for progress guided by the ethos of "Aspiring High and Prioritizing Responsibility." University leaders, heads of relevant departments, and representatives of teachers and students participated in the events.
On January 1, 2026, flag-raising ceremonies were held simultaneously at Zhiyuan Square on the East Garden of Sanjiang Campus, in front of the former administration building on Hongqi Campus, on the sports grounds of Nanchang Campus, the Advanced Copper Industry College, and the Electronic Information Industry College.
The ceremonies were solemn and dignified. The university's flag guard marched with firm and resolute steps escorting the national flag. As the stirring strains of the "March of the Volunteers" rang out, the Five-Starred Red Flag rose steadily against the sky. All attendees stood solemnly at attention, offering their salutes and singing the national anthem in unison. Their powerful voices, filled with the loyalty and respect of the JUST community for the motherland, echoed across the campuses.
University Party Committee Secretary Liu Zuwen extended New Year greetings to all faculty and students. He pointed out that 2026 marks the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan and is a crucial year for the university to focus on the field of rare earth and critical minerals, drive high-quality development, and leverage the effectiveness of its three major excellence innovation centers. He shared three hopes with the university community: first, that teachers cultivate virtue through their work, nurturing pillars for the times, striving to be "four-haves" good teachers and fostering more outstanding talents with both moral integrity and professional competence; second, that students use learning as their oar to propel their youthful dreams, inheriting the "Three Practicals" quality, enhancing their abilities through practice, tempering their will through challenges; third, that the entire university joins in a pact of ambition, embarking together on the journey of "Double First-Class" construction, advancing steadily on the path of high-quality development with a sense of responsibility and pragmatic measures.
The ceremonies concluded with participants singing "Ode to the Motherland" in unison, expressing their deep love and blessings for the country with heartfelt and fervent voices.
Previously, on the evening of December 31, 2025, the university also hosted spectacular New Year's Eve galas and meaningful countdown activities. The galas, featuring distinctive cultural performances and warm interactions, created an immersive atmosphere for faculty and students to welcome the new year.
Sanjiang Campus, Hongqi Campus, Nanchang Campus, and the industry colleges presented a diverse array of performances including band shows, interactive games, and cultural flash mobs. Energetic singing performances resonated strongly with the audience, singing the melody of youth. Student club showcases were a vibrant display of talent, with dynamic dances igniting the atmosphere. Amid laughter and joy, teachers and students bid farewell to the old year and welcomed the new, collectively etching warm memories of the transition into the new year.
