A high-level delegation from Baotou City, Inner Mongolia, led by Chen Zhichang, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Inner Mongolia Regional Committee and Party Secretary of Baotou, visited Jiangxi University of Science and Technology (JXUST) on March 9th. Secretary Chen underscored the strategic importance of the rare earth industry to Baotou's economic transformation. He highlighted JXUST's prominent standing in Ganzhou, a hub for rare earth resources and talent, and its distinct advantages in discipline development, scientific research, and personnel training. He called for deepened cooperation to leverage complementary strengths and advance the national strategy for the rare earth industry.
JXUST Party Secretary Liu Zuwen welcomed the delegation, expressing gratitude for the city's attention to the university's development. He outlined the university's recent academic reforms and its ambition to become a world-class institution in rare earth and key mineral fields. He expressed hope for a multifaceted partnership involving the university, local government, and enterprises to contribute to national strategic goals.
University President Ge Shirong, a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, detailed the institution's nearly 70-year history and its focus on integrating education, technology, and talent development within the rare earth sector. He emphasized the university's commitment to providing robust talent and technological support for the advancement of Jiangxi's mineral industries and national critical mineral strategies.
