On March 26, Yan Qingsong, Party Secretary and President of the Jiangxi Academy of Sciences, visited the Jiangxi University of Science and Technology and the Gannan Laboratory.
Before the main talks, Liu Zuwen, the university’s Party Secretary, and Wang Hang, a vice-president, met Yan. Liu welcomed the delegation and highlighted the university’s recent achievements.
The delegation then toured the Gannan Laboratory for discussions. Yang Bin, Executive Director of the laboratory and a member of the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, along with Liao Chunfa, deputy director of the laboratory, hosted the meeting. Yang outlined the laboratory’s founding vision, its positioning, and its focus on commercialising research results, particularly through industry-academia collaboration. The two sides exchanged views on research priorities, deeper cooperation, and technology transfer.
After the meeting, Yang accompanied Yan to the university’s history museum, where he detailed the institution’s long-standing work in non-ferrous metals and critical minerals, its research strengths, and its role in serving regional mining industries and training specialists.
