Jiangxi University of Science and Technology (JXUST) has received 11 awards in the 2025 Jiangxi Provincial Science and Technology Awards, according to a recent decision by the Jiangxi Provincial People’s Government.
Of the 11 awards, JXUST led nine projects and participated in two, ranking second among all institutions in the province for awards as the lead organization. Three projects won first prizes and eight won second prizes. The number of first prizes placed JXUST second among provincial universities, marking the 11th consecutive year the university has received a first prize.
The awarded achievements cover mining engineering, metallurgical engineering, materials science and engineering, surveying and mapping science, and other disciplines. They reflect JXUST’s distinctive strengths in rare earths and critical minerals, its commitment to serving major national strategies and local economic development, and its research capabilities in nonferrous metals, new energy, and new materials.
In recent years, JXUST has deepened reform of its research management system, advanced organized research, and strengthened industry-academia-research collaboration, significantly enhancing its innovation capacity. The latest awards are seen as a reflection of the university’s progress in Double First-Class construction and the development of high-level research platforms.
The university said it will continue to focus on breakthroughs in core technologies and promote the commercialization of research outcomes, contributing to the development of new quality productive forces and the building of a strong science and technology province and nation.
