JXUST has placed 39 scholars on the latest World’s Top 2% Scientists list, released jointly by Stanford University’s John P.A. Ioannidis team and Elsevier. Six were named to the Career-long Impact list, while 33 appeared on the 2026 Single-year Impact list. The recognition reflects both the academic caliber of JXUST scholars and the university’s research strength and international influence.
The ranking has two components—Career-long Impact and Single-year Impact—and covers 20 fields and 174 subfields. Drawing on Scopus citation data, it weighs citations, H-index, HM-index and citations of independent or first-author work, selecting the top 2% from roughly 10 million researchers worldwide. It is widely regarded as an important benchmark of international research influence. In 2026, China had 14,582 scholars on the career-long list and 37,201 on the single-year list.
