On the morning of June 7th, Professor Yang Bin, chair of the governance council of JXUST, paid a working visit to Yingtan, a prefecture-level city in Jiangxi Province. Mr. Zhang Zijian, mayor of Yingtan Municipality, held fruitful discussions with JXUST delegation on the partnership of Advanced Institute of Copper Industry (AICI).
In the symposium held thereafter, the officials of Yingtan Municipality put forward their suggestions on the student enrollment, faculty recruitment, and social service of AICI. Professor Yang believed that the newly-established copper industry institute would contribute significantly to the creation of a non-ferrous industrial cluster in Jiangxi.
Yingtan, in northeast Jiangxi province, has long enjoyed a reputation as the cradle of China's copper industry. Benefiting from its unique advantages in copper resources, it is now the largest copper smelting and processing base in the country. Adopting the concept of "intelligent development", the city has forged a new path to high-quality industrial development, and has become one of the municipal cities in the province with the highest industrial growth in recent years. The city has to date planned six core industrial manufacturing clusters in the intelligent industry, such as wireless communication module, automobile sensors and new intelligent terminal, with the aim of becoming the manufacturing center for the internet of things (IoT) industry in Central China.
