On March 24th, the symposium for "a Low-cost and Small-capacity Maglev Passenger and Freight Transportation System", which was authorized to be a Key National R&D Project by the Ministry of Science and Technology, was held in the Sanjiang Campus of JXUST.
40-odd leading experts from government agencies and research institutes shared their insights in the meeting. Expressing his warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to the expertsProfessor Yang Bin, Chair of the governance council of JXUST, introduced the implementation plan of the project.
He noted that the small-capacity rail transit, due to its low-cost, great economic and social benefits, has ushered in great opportunities since China’s adoption of "the14th Five-Year Plan for Urban Rail Transit". This project mainly focuses on five aspects: overall architecture and system integration, traction drive and suspension support, transportation organization and operation control, vehicle equipment and support system.
