Donation Ceremony of the Orange Line China-Pakistan Classroom at JXUST's Confucius Institute

On the afternoon of November 4th, the unveiling ceremony for the China-Pakistan Classroom donated by the Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project to the Confucius Institute at the University of the Punjab, Pakistan, affiliated with our university, was held in the central conference hall of the University of the Punjab. Cao Ke, the Acting Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in Lahore, attended the donation ceremony.

During the ceremony, Cao Ke stated that the Orange Line was not only a symbol of China-Pakistan friendship but also a model of cooperation between the two countries. He emphasized that the Confucius Institute was an important platform for implementing initiatives such as the Global Civilization Initiative, and he hoped that teachers and students would continuously improve their Chinese language skills to promote the continuous development of China-Pakistan friendship.

This time, the Orange Line project funded the renovation of classrooms at the Confucius Institute and donated modern teaching equipment, significantly improving the teaching conditions at the Confucius Institute. In addition, the project has been committed to the development of education, establishing a broad academic exchange platform, and injecting momentum into the deep integration and prosperous development of the cultures of the two countries.

 

Other attendees included Tan Zidong, CEO of the Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project, Cai Jinbao, Chinese Director of our university's Confucius Institute, Khalid, Vice Chancellor of the University of the Punjab, Shafiq, Pakistani Director of the Confucius Institute, local Chinese teachers, and nearly 100 other people.

 

Tan Zidong praised the efforts of the Confucius Institute in promoting the Chinese language and culture. Cai Jinbao expressed gratitude to the Orange Line Metro for its strong support of the Confucius Institute through a video message. Khalid highly appreciated the continued efforts of the Orange Line Metro to promote international cooperation between China and Pakistan through education and cultural exchanges. Shafiq introduced the development history of the Confucius Institute since its establishment and expressed sincere thanks to the Orange Line Metro for its generous support of the Confucius Institute.

Students from the Confucius Institute presented oil paintings symbolizing China-Pakistan friendship to Acting Consul General Cao Ke, Mr. Tan Zidong, and Vice Chancellor Khalid. The Orange Line Metro recognized students with excellent academic performance at the Confucius Institute and expressed its willingness to provide more internship opportunities for these outstanding students.

 

The event concluded successfully with a Chinese song performance by students from the Confucius Institute. Subsequently, our university's Education Foundation sent a letter of thanks to the Lahore Orange Line Metro Operation and Maintenance Project Company for its long-term support and assistance.
