A delegation from the Ganzhou Rongjiang New District, led by Party Working Committee Secretary Xu Wei, visited Jiangxi University of Science and Technology on October 20 to discuss deeper collaboration between the district and the university.
The meeting, held at the Lianxi Building on Sanjiang Campus, brought together key leaders including University President and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Ge Shirong, and Party Secretary Liu Zuwen. Both sides expressed strong interest in strengthening ties in areas such as technological innovation, talent development, and research commercialization.
In his address, Ge Shirong outlined the university’s ongoing expansion and its focus on building high-level research platforms, including the Jiangxi Advanced Research Institute. He emphasized the institution’s commitment to supporting regional development and proposed that the partnership should inject fresh momentum into Ganzhou’s growth.
Xu Wei introduced Rongjiang New District’s latest developments, particularly the “One District, Six Centers” blueprint and the strategic “Outan Digital Intelligence Island” initiative — a flagship urban renewal project. She extended a formal collaboration invitation to the university, highlighting potential joint efforts in building a digital industrial park and youth-friendly communities.
“We will provide full support to facilitate this partnership,” Xu said, “and look forward to leveraging the university’s research and talent to achieve tangible outcomes as soon as possible.”
The two sides agreed to enhance coordination and move quickly to implement the cooperation framework discussed during the talks.
